PRO- Orava

PRO-Orava is a non-profit regional development agency and a small business support centre for the Orava region (Orava is a territory in the northern part of Slovakia.) PRO-Orava was established in 1994 with support of the Ministry of Economy SR, PHARE, the National Agency for Development of SMEs, the Centre for Strategic Studies of SR, the District Office of Dolny Kubin, and various towns and enterprises of the region.

Main objectives of PRO-Orava:

- Support projects for development of SMEs;
- Support labour market restructuring;
- Support and stimulate projects for investment in SMEs;
- Advertise the region
- Support building of infrastructure in the region

Current PRO-Orava's activities:

- PRO-Orava provides advisory services and training for SMEs, the unemployed, local authorities and municipalities. It also takes part in improving regional development plans and other regional development activities.
- Our main focus is social and economic development of the Orava region and SMEs support in the region.
- PRO-Orava has also been working at the national level to disseminate its experience and utilize its capacities.
- PRO-Orava has been involved in various international projects focused on quality, management, guidance, innovation management, benchmarking, e-learning, tourism, regional development and training.
